The Energy New Business Laboratory was launched in January 2016 in pursuit of the government's energy new industry policy and corporate's new growth engine development. By corresponding with the global POST 2020 new climate agreement and adopting a new paradigm for the energy new industry, our laboratory will continuously develop the core technologies and the business models of the energy new industry and business.
  Firstly, based on technology that combines MicroGrids, consumer-side resources, and EVs, we will build energy-independent islands to realize eventually a smart city, which enhances an eco-friendly lifestyle by means of clean and renewable energy, and efficient energy management technology.
  Additionally, we will continue to contribute to the expansion of renewable energy and energy storage systems by integrating renewable energy technologies like offshore wind turbines, PVs, fuel cells and energy storage, thus enabling industrial and residential sites to efficiently use energy.
  Lastly, we will develop smart power conditioning systems, based on proven power plant control technology that has been in use over the last few decades, to efficiently interconnect renewable energy sources with the electric power grid. Furthermore, we will try to support a global power plant training and operating.
